"Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever humbles himself like a child, he is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven." This child like image is also in the writing of Rachael Carson who wrote: "A child's world is fresh and new and beautiful, full of wonder and excitement. It is our misfortune that for most of us that clear-eyed vision, that true instinct for what is beautiful and awe-inspiring, is dimmed and even lost before we reach adulthood." We must be willing and eager to open up and receive the good, instead of being manipulated into a system of fearful, closed, violent, confused and mechanical system of ideas.
The ultimate happiness of an individual consists of their knowledge and vision of God, together with the ongoing natural processes of living. Since we are dependent on the higher power for answers and understanding, natural knowledge will not be enough. For some form of a higher system of
knowledge is necessary. In many way's intuition and faith perceives this higher system. Contemplating on the things of God is indeed a form of faith at work. The art of faith illustrates and bares the imprint of that art. The admiration that we gain from Nature influences our soul with the sense that a system of the Absolute is at work. We are to behold the glory of God with an open mind, for it is our fountain of life. The essence of our mind is one of intellect and imagination, and through this the faculty of faith are formed. For the mind to reach a higher degree of spiritual ideas a form of sensitivity and compassion must be called upon.
The essential attributes of God is in living. The reason that we exist is this manifestation acting upon itself. A proper connection with the infinite are bestowed when we embrace and interact with faith and right understanding. With this connection great works are performed whether actively or inactively. When a depressed and unfulfilled life rises to a new perspective on life and its purpose, life seems to open up and reveal that which was hidden or overlooked. As we think so are we. Action through faith such as this is for the betterment of the individual and their surroundings. Through the law of cause and effect a balancing act has taken place. Leading its way is the essence of the Absolute principle of life. We therefore gradually understand what it is to be a real human being.
Truth about ourselves is not to be found in any isolated or distant place, for us to grope and stumble upon. Truth is transcendent around and through every living thing. Truth is life itself, expressing itself to us on a higher base, always related and personally achieved. Faith in something higher than we are bridges the gap that divides human knowledge and truth itself. Truth relates to us on the outside as well as within us. Truth seeks to free us from our own fallibility of human reasoning. Faith lifts us above the crushing weight of world disharmony and tension. The disharmony we see in the world is not of the world, but in ourselves. The improvement of the world depends on the manner in which we change ourselves. The art of faith is achieved when a person reaches beyond their own limited reasoning and unite within the realm of higher subjectivity. Persistent effort in the right direction despite repeated failures is the secret of every great achievement. Do not worry over the time that it takes, for one day it shall be achieved.
The highest religious element is faith itself. The more solid the faith the closer the association is with Nature. When a soul becomes lost, life shoots forward and lays hold at its source to rejuvenate the soul for its return to the world of reality. All it takes is a thought or word to uplift and encourage to get it moving. We live in an open world where a dynamic movement goes on within the source of life. To carry hatred towards anyone shuts ourselves off from the light of wisdom and isolates us from this world. Hatred is not a defect of the world of reality, but the product of a human act. Hatred causes the heart grief. Only love and forgiveness can unite the soul back to harmony. It is achieved as a result of effort and a strong desire to improve.
In Nature there is harmony and balance, and this cosmic law is preserved and always will prevail. The only guarantee in life is life itself, to set one self against universal law is a set up towards set-backs. We take many falls and may become wounded, but the divine arm of the God is there for us to catch hold of so we can proceed toward our desires and wishes. To stay in communion with your true nature is to stay in tune with the general unity of life. No one is unworthy of Gods love, for all things great and small are moving and participating in this game called Life. Like the sun it can radiate light without any loss to itself. God is also not the author of evil. The Divine Glory of God is when the good will of everyone ultimately triumph over evil and the whole world will be transformed for the better. Then we will give praise of the defeat of countless wars of good and evil, light and darkness, truth and falsehood.
Think how long the world has lasted before you and how long it will last when you are gone. Thus, by reason only we should honor God out of love and seek its wisdom for understanding to create a more harmonious world. The ethical, moral and spiritual connection between the individual and God will always remain even if we neglect it. God is the source of all beauty the source of all goodness and peace.
The Greek philosopher Plotinus in his treaties: "The Three Primordial Essences" stated the following: "It is by the Cosmic Spirit that the world, so myriad-formed and various, is one vast whole. Through this spirit the Universe itself is a divinity; and we ourselves and all other things are whatever we are in our noblest by virtue of this all-permanent Cosmic Spirit. Our individual spirit is identical with this Cosmic Spirit . . . Thus the essence of the spirit is incomparably higher than anything which has form. Honoring the Cosmic Spirit everywhere, it leads us to honor our own individual spirit. In this divine still all that is eternally alive is contained. . . all is Divinity . . . and here indeed is the home of every individual spirit in peace eternal."
